Have been working my way through this video lesson over the last month or so - what a lot of fun! Some real challenges offered up in some great old tunes. Interestingly, I can sometimes hear snippets of Rev. Davis and John Hurt melodies/motifs in these old Jass and rag tunes, I wonder . . . ? If anyone in the shed is looking for a crowd pleaser of a tune, you have a bunch here! Lasse great job, thanks for sharing!

I'd be very interested in a Woody Guthrie finger style DVD covering some of his music. I'd particularly be interested in buying an instructional DVD that includes the songs from the "Dust Bowl Ballads" DVD with a bonus track of "This Land Is Your Land." Is this possible Stefan? Thanks! I haven't previously listened to Chet. I'm about 1/2 through the 3rd disc of 5. Now I understand. What a tasteful and wonderful guitar player!

basic question about resonator guitars

Is it reasonable to leave resonator guitars, the metal ones and possibly even the ones made out of wood, hanging on the wall? I've just been told that my "real" guitar should be in its case with a humidifier (I did sort of know that but I guess I suppressed the information), but I have found that having a guitar right there on the wall is incredibly helpful for those odd minutes of just sitting and practicing.

Plus I'm thinking that a good resonator might keep me...

Hi Stepan,
I recently got your dvd Fingerpicking Guitar Techniques and am tackling the first song Oh Papa. I watched the video and noticed that the last two bars you play are different than the ones on the tab. Those last two are the ones giving me the most trouble and was hoping to see you do it. Any reason for the change? By the way I'm a beginner so any help would be most appreciated. Love the course.

can metal fingerpicks kill coated strings?

The g string on my Martin 00016 GT buzzes in a horrible, shimmering way at every fret. Ive discovered that if I change the string it stops. I then discovered that if I dont use fingerpicks it stays stopped. Within a day or two of using the metal fingerpick I like to play with the buzzing comes back. I use elixir strings. Could it be that the metal kills the coating and non coated elixir strings buzz? I hope not as I just bought 5 packs. The g string is I suppose the thinnest of the coated...

I'm starting to learn Cocaine Blues after learning All My Friends Are Gone from another DVD and I'm noticing that there are some similar phrases in both songs. A few years ago I had TVB's arrangement of Powder Rag under my fingers and I would like to relearn it. I can't find the sheet music - it's not in SG's Complete Ragtime Guitar collection. Anyone recall where it was published?
