I have been working on Woody's Tribute to Big Bill and Blind Lemon from the Fingerstyle Blues Guitar lesson. What a great swinging piece.
I am fine with all of it and can play it through solidly at a slow tempo. I can pick up the tempo for the rest of it but I am having problems with the first part of the third section playing it up to speed, particularly those triplets on the high E string. It's fine slowly, but piles up in a heap when I get to it at a quicker tempo.
I've tried doing it over and over again, the section, and even just the triplets on their own but no good really, I think my fingers are just too stiff. I'm not going to fudge it, so at this stage I think I'll just simplify it with less notes, solidify that and go with that. It's a bit frustrating to have 90% of a tune down well and be blocked with one short two bar passage.
Any tips please (apart from continuing to play it to death in practice!)?
All the best,
