I visited Manchester ( UK) today and in Forsythe's excellent and long-established shop on Deansgate there was a guitar made by the Oahu company of
Cleveland, Ohio, in 1934. It was about an 000 in size, darkly varnished and with that "thin white rope" type of binding and soundhole surround that
appears on 30s guitars in old pics of bluesmen. The sound was monstrous! It was really loud and almost perfectly balanced and had tone in tons. Does anyone
know anything about this firm? Anyone own an Oahu (now or in the past)?
